About me
Angela Neller (Native Hawaiian) has 35 years of experience managing archaeological, ethnographic, and archival collections. Her accomplishments include contributing to the design and construction of the Wanapum Heritage Center and its permanent exhibit, coordinating collection moves, bringing archaeological collections into compliance with state and federal laws, NAGPRA compliance, and putting into place systematic policies and procedures for collection management. Angela advocates for the rights of indigenous people through connection and stewardship of museum collections. Angela is the Curator at the Wanapum Heritage Center and adjunct faculty at Central Washington University. She holds a BA and MA in Anthropology from the University of Illinois. Her publications address curation, repatriation, and the value of curated professional and amateur archaeological collections for regional research.
