About me
Dr. Ana Serrano specialises in the combination of conservation, art history and science for the interdisciplinary research of heritage textiles as sources of historical narratives. With a background in Conservation and Restoration, she obtained her PhD in 2016 at the NOVA University of Lisbon. She was involved in several post-doctoral projects related to the study of extant textiles at the University of Amsterdam, the Dutch Cultural Heritage Agency, and the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam until 2020. Serrano joined in 2022 the Amsterdam School for Heritage, Memory and Material Culture, University of Amsterdam. She is assistant professor and course coordinator of the textile specialisation within the Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage (C&R) programme.
