About me
Jiuan Jiuan Chen is the Associate Professor of Conservation Imaging, Technical Examination, and Documentation at the Patricia H. and Richard E. Garman Art Conservation Department at SUNY Buffalo State University. She received the Sheldon and Caroline Keck Award in 2023 in recognition of her contributions to the education and training of emerging conservation professionals.
Jiuan Jiuan’s research focuses on developing practical tools and methodologies to streamline imaging workflows and enhance the effectiveness of imaging techniques. She also investigates the safe utilization of various radiation sources for imaging. One of her notable contributions is the design of AIC PhD Targets with Dan Kushel and Luisa Casella. She served as an inaugural member of the leadership team for the AIC Imaging Working Group from 2020 to 2022, demonstrating her commitment to advancing imaging practices within the conservation field.
