About me
Courtney June Books is a private paintings conservator based in St. Louis. She currently serves on the editorial board of the open-sourced, peer-reviewed publication Materia: Journal of Technical Art History and on the AIC-PSG nominating committee. Courtney holds a M.A. in Art Conservation from Queens University and a M.A. in Art History from McGill University.
Courtney's experience includes serving as associate paintings conservator at the Saint Louis Art Museum, as a Mellon Fellow at the Balboa Art Conservation Center, and training internships at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, Gianfranco Pocobene Studio, the Museo del Prado, and Parma Conservation. She is passionate about community-based conservation and mural programming, architectural paintings and decorative surfaces, paintings on atypical substrates, artist-conservator collaborations, and bioart.
