About me
Francien Bossema received her MSc. in Applied Mathematics, with an additional specialization in Science Communication from Leiden University. In May of this year she obtained her PhD from the Center for Mathematics and Computer Science in Amsterdam on the topic ‘Tailoring X-ray tomography techniques for cultural heritage research’. During her PhD she worked at the and Rijksmuseum, and in 2022, she was a guest researcher for 9 months at the British Museum. She has published her research in several peer reviewed scientific journals including Scientific Reports, Heritage Science, The journal of Cultural Heritage and PLoS One. Her most recent article was published in Nature Communications, and was titled ‘Enabling 3D CT-scanning of cultural heritage objects using only in-house 2D X-ray equipment in museums’.
