Sumru Belger Krody, Senior Curator, The Textile Museum Collection at The George Washington University Museum and The Textile Museum specializes in textiles from the late antique period and the Islamic Lands. As the senior curator, she leads the curatorial department of The Textile Museum and serves as editor-in-chief of The Textile Museum Journal. She also guest lectures for George Washington University on textile arts. She has curated or co-curated numerous exhibitions for The Textile Museum. Recently, she was the curator for the 2023 exhibition, Prayer and Transcendence. Besides authoring many articles, she is the author or the co-authored of eight exhibition-related publications, the most recent of which are Woven Interiors: Furnishing Early Medieval Egypt (2019) and A Nomad’s Art: Kilims of Anatolia (2018).
