About me
Mahmoud Fathy is a highly skilled conservator and mount-maker, specializing in the preservation of cultural heritage. Born in 1984, Mahmoud graduated from Cairo University in 2002 with a degree in Archaeology from the Department of Conservation, earning a very good grade with honors. His methodical approach to conservation has been refined through years of experience, making him an expert in his field.
After completing his master's degree in 2020, Mahmoud focused on advanced conservation techniques, particularly in mount making for painting and textile objects. Currently, he is spearheading the development of a specialized mount-making unit within Qatar Museums, with the goal of establishing a permanent and professional division dedicated to the preservation of cultural artifacts. Mahmoud's work is driven by a deep commitment to safeguarding history and enhancing cultural appreciation.
