About me
Carlandrea is the Charles E. Culpeper Fellow in the Painting Conservation Department at the National Gallery of Art. He studied at the Scuola di Alta Formazione e Studio of the Opificio delle Pietre Dure in Florence where he graduated in 2022, specializing in painting and wooden sculpture conservation. At the conclusion of his studies, he presented a thesis concerning the Penitent Magdalene by Desiderio da Settignano and Giovanni d’Andrea from the church of Santa Trinita. After working in private and public laboratories in Italy, Carlandrea joined the NGA Conservation team in October 2023, examining and treating Old Masters’ paintings from the collection.
