About me
Donald Cope is a practitioner of the Mechanical and Industrial Arts. Trained formally as a graphic designer and educator, he circled to objects after becoming frustrated with the limitation and impermanence of print. Donald established his Athens, Georgia based design and fabrication studio in 1992, during his graduate studies at the University of Georgia. Cope’s primary focus lies at the intersection of precision manual craft, minimalism, material science and technology. His other interests include language, imagery, travel, cosmology, and mending electromechanical mechanisms.
