About me
Dr. Gwen dePolo (she/her/hers) is a Preservation Scientist at the Library of Congress in the Preservation Research and Testing Division. She earned a B.S. in Chemistry and B.A. in Music from the University of Nevada, Reno, her MSc. in Materials Science and Engineering from Northwestern University, and a jointly recognized PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from Northwestern University and the University of Amsterdam. Her current research areas are parchment degradation and mechanical testing of cultural heritage materials.
