About me
Mariana Kaplinska has been working as an architect since 2008 at a number of companies and later as an individual entrepreneur. In 2016, defended her PhD thesis - The Principles of Regeneration for the Market Squares in the Historic Towns and Cities of the Western Region of Ukraine.
Participant of the 18 International Course on Wood Conservation Technology (ICWCT, Oslo, 2018). Fulbright researcher at the Historic Preservation Program, University of Pennsylvania, Stuart Weitzman School of Design (Philadelphia, 2018-2019).
Has been teaching lectures and practical classes on Architectural Design, Interior Design, Historic Preservation, Architectural Conservation, Wooden Built Heritage Conservation at the Lviv Polytechnic National University, and at the Uzhhorod National University as Assistant Professor and later Associate Professor. Has worked as a consultant at Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates (KPF, London Office, 2022), and as the Head of Architecture Section at the Klymentiy Sheptytsky Museum of Folk Architecture and Rural Life In Lviv (2024).
Mariana Kaplinska is a licensed professional both in the fields of Architectural Design and Urban Planning. She has been engaged in various projects both in terms of type and scale, from interior design projects, developed and executed with the attention to the smallest details, through architectural design, architectural conservation, and to urban reconstruction and regeneration.
Mariana Kaplinska is a member of Ukrainian National ICCROM Committee, paying considerable attention to scientific studies of the theory and history of architecture, architectural and urban monuments, issues of cultural heritage preservation.
Apart from architectural studies and design, is interested in arts and paints.
