About me
Marissa Stevenson is the Associate Conservator of Textile-Based Collections at the Toledo Museum of Art. Marissa graduated from the University of Toledo with a B.A in Art History and obtained her M.A. in Fashion and Textiles: History, Theory and Museum Practice from the Fashion Institute of Technology. Previously, she has worked in conservation labs at the University of Michigan Bentley Historical Library, Buffalo Bill Center of the West, and the Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Prior to her current position at TMA, she worked with the museum as Curatorial Consultant of Textiles and Samuel H. Kress Fellow in Multi-Media Textile Conservation. She specializes in conservation of textiles, fashion/costume, and multi-media objects with a textile basis.
