About me
Salome Garcia (Havana, Cuba, 1991) pursued an M.A. in Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage from the Polytechnic University of Valencia, with an Erasmus Semester at the Nova University of Lisbon, and a focus on modern and contemporary art. She received her bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts specializing in Cultural Heritage Conservation from the University of Arts (2018), and was trained at the National Center for Conservation and Restoration in Havana, Cuba. With RLA since 2023 as Assistant Conservator, she has undertaken conservation work for public and private collections in Miami and other cities in Florida, working with a wide range of materials and media. Prior to joining RLA she completed internships in international museums with a focus on modern and contemporary art at the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, in Venice, and the Ludwig Museum for Contemporary Art, in Budapest. She has engaged in human rights advocacy as a columnist and editor for Hypermedia Magazine and co-founder of Justicia 11J, an organization dedicated to documenting and advocating for the freedom of Cuban political prisoners.
