About me
Shauna Young is Senior Conservator at Modern Art Conservation, a private studio in NYC. She holds an MA in Art History and an Advanced Certificate in Conservation from the Institute of Fine Arts Conservation Center at NYU. Her early professional experience includes training at The Museum of Modern Art, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, and the NYU Villa La Pietra in Florence. As MAC’s Senior Conservator, Shauna treats some of the most challenging surfaces and has developed expertise in the preservation of minimalist and color field paintings. She also co-teaches the graduate course Examination and Treatment of Modern and Contemporary Paintings at the IFA and leads workshops in conservation and conservation-adjacent fields. Shauna is a Professional Associate of AIC.
