About me
Sarah Barack is currently the Head of Conservation and Senior Objects Conservator at the Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum. She received her Master’s in Art History and an Advanced Certificate of Conservation from the Conservation Center, Institute of Fine Arts, New York University and an MBA from Columbia Business School. She has treated and researched a wide variety of materials, from 18th Century porcelain to mid-century plastics. She is particularly interested in the intersection between material culture theory and the practical work of preservation.
