About me
Jessica Walthew is an objects conservator at Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum. She holds an MA in Art History and Archaeology with an advanced certificate in Conservation from NYU's Institute of Fine Arts, Conservation Center. Her research and teaching interests include history, theory, and practice in conservation, and technical research using digital photographic documentation techniques. At Cooper Hewitt, she works primarily with the Product Design and Decorative Arts and Digital collections. She is currently a PhD student at the University of Glasgow researching the “unsettled matter” of plastics lifetimes in heritage conservation and sustainability discourses.
