Speed Mentoring
Thursday May 29, 2025 1:00pm - 2:00pm CDT
We are excited to host a Speed Mentoring at the AIC Annual Meeting 2025, presented by the International Network for the Conservation of Contemporary Art (INCCA) and AIC's Contemporary Art Network (CAN!).

The event consists of up to three informal, 10-minute, one-on-one sessions with the mentors of your choice, pending availability. You can discuss anything with your speed mentor – this is your dedicated time to chat without the usual distractions of conferences! You can come and go as you please based on the time slot allotted to you for your mentoring sessions.

This year's amazing mentors are:
  • Alexa Beller: Paintings Conservator, Midwest Art Conservation Center (bio forthcoming)
  • Elizabeth Brown: Senior Objects Conservator, Seattle Art Museum (SAM)
  • Brian Castriota: Lecturer in Conservation of Contemporary Art and Media at University College London, Time-Based Media Conservator at the National Galleries Scotland, and Freelance Conservator for Time-Based Media and Contemporary Art at the Irish Museum of Modern Art
  • Megan Creamer: Assistant Textiles Conservator, Art Institute of Chicago
  • Alessandra Guarascio: Installation Art Conservator, M+ Museum
  • Leticia Gomez Franco: Executive Director, Balboa Art Conservation Center
  • Emily Hamilton: Assistant Professor of Objects Conservation, SUNY Buffalo State

Book and Paper Group Wiki Discussion
Friday May 30, 2025 12:00pm - 1:00pm CDT
Book and Paper Group Wiki coordinators Sandrine Blais and Mitchel Gundrum invite Wiki users and contributors to a (virtual) walking tour of the Wiki! This session will provide longtime contributors and newcomers alike with the chance to explore the Wiki’s origins, recent developments, and goals for the future. A history of the Wiki’s print descendants will be followed by an overview of the 2023 Semantic update, introduction to the Wiki Contributor training on the AIC learning platform, and an audience discussion on new pages and cross-specialism to consider. We invite conservators from all stages of their careers to attend this session and partake in the lively discussion that will add to the continued effort to build this collaborative knowledge base.
